Spilling Meat Sloppily on His Thong

(Tune: Killing Me Softly With His Song)

I’ll come right out with it: I can’t stand noisy eaters. I read in Time magazine that it’s an actual phobia called Misophonia (which sounds more like a fear of eating Japanese soup) but it’s simply a strong dislike of sounds people make when they eat, such as slurping or lip-smacking, and not all that uncommon. (Check out the hilarious ‘Palestinian Chicken’ episode of Larry David’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ for a brilliant example of this.)

My dear friend Marci Campbell lent her beautiful and expressive vocal chords to this spoof of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” While her version is about falling in love watching a performer, my version is a version about aversion! It’s the story a woman who falls for a guy because he’s easy on the eyes, but finds out that when he eats, he’s anything but easy on the eyes… and ears.
