(Tune: New York, New York)
You just never know where your next inspiration is going to come from. In this case, it was a guy sneezing on the bus. But this wasn’t just one of those quiet, muffled polite sneezes, where everyone within earshot says a pleasant “Gesundheit” or “Bless You!” Uh-uh. This was one of those astoundingly loud and nasty nostril storms whose contents could have decorated a Christmas tree. The one where everyone in the bus mutters to themselves, “Thanks for sharing that with us, mister.” As for me, I started humming “Stop spreading the ooze…” and the song grew from there.
I sang this parody once in New York City, to a bunch of theatre-goers lining up to buy tickets for a show. It went over very well, and I figured, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere.” So, here it is!
